Liberty Mutual Insurance in Plano, Texas is seeking a Technical Claims Specialist to oversee complex Unit Auto and General Liability cases of moderate to high exposure under limited supervision.

You will investigate, evaluate, and disposition claims, coordinate with defense counsel, coverage counsel, environmental consultants, and other specialists, and establish reserves while guiding less experienced staff and negotiating settlements.

Qualificações

• Solid understanding of Complex Unit Auto and General Liability claims handling techniques.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience required.
• 4–5 years of related claims experience preferred.

Under limited supervision and established practices, the Technical Claims Specialist is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and disposition of Complex Unit Auto and General Liability cases of moderate to high exposure.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and manage complex environmental claims from initial notice through resolution.
• Analyze policy language, coverage issues, exclusions, conditions, and applicable environmental liability provisions.
• Coordinate with defense counsel, coverage counsel, environmental consultants, and other specialists
• Investigates claims to determine whether coverage is provided, establish liability and verify damages. Resolves claims within authority and makes recommendations regarding case value and resolution strategy to Branch Office Management and HO Examining on cases which exceed authority.
• Works closely with staff and outside defense counsel in managing litigated files according to established litigation management protocols.
• Identifies and appropriately handles suspicious claims.
• Identifies and appropriately handles claims with third party subrogation potential.
• Establishes and maintains accurate reserves on all assigned files. Makes timely reserve recommendations to Branch Office Management and HO Examining on cases which exceed authority.
• Prepares for and attends mediation sessions and/or settlement conferences and negotiates on behalf of LMG and LMG Insureds.
• Monitors trials and reports daily to Branch Office and HO Examining. Makes recommendations regarding strategy based upon developments.
• Confers directly with policyholders on coverage and resolution strategy issues.
• Establishes and updates -Action Plans- on assigned claims which clearly reflect file status and disposition strategy.
• Participates in training sessions for less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of Complex Unit Auto and General Liability claims handling techniques and a working knowledge of LMG Claims procedures and demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively.
• A Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience is required.
• In addition, the candidate will generally possess 4-5 years of related claims experience.
