Job summary

WCL Group in Schenectady, NY is seeking a CAD Designer to create precise models and drawings under supervision from engineers. You will develop detailed CAD deliverables for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project instructions and standards.

Collaborating with engineers and other team members, you will apply drafting practices including GD&T and maintain clear communication to meet timelines and quality expectations in an onsite 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (Technology, Drafting, or similar) plus experience; or related vocational-technical high school program.
• Proficiency in a CAD software.
• Basic understanding of drafting practices and procedures, e.g. Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare models and drawings using CAD software according to provided instructions.
• Perform model and drawing changes and revisions as directed by engineers or project managers.
• Receive close supervision, instruction, and review of work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Follow modeling and drafting practices and procedures to produce clear and concise consumable models and drawings.
• Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
