Technical Business Analyst, Capital Markets

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, specifically in Reference Data, Market Data, and Regulatory Reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry and a deep understanding of market data systems, data management practices, and the regulatory landscape affecting the capital markets. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing business requirements, optimizing data flows, and supporting compliance with regulatory reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for data and system changes.
• Lead requirements gathering, technical evaluations and specifications, functional analysis, and testing in client engagements.
• Collaborate with project teams to manage stakeholder relationships and ensure timely delivery.
• Develop and execute test strategies and create clear test cases.
• Apply deep knowledge of Capital Markets, Reference Data, Market Data, and Regulatory Reporting to support solutions and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for transformational change and contribute to sales strategy and activities where appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in the investment banking or financial services industry, with one or more areas of specialization.
• Experience with Capital Markets Reference Data Platforms.
• Practical knowledge of trade lifecycles and risk processes.
• Knowledge of one or more financial product sets including market structure, pricing methodologies, and risk characteristics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including authoring business documents and presentations, running workshops, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in a software development environment.
• Ability to conduct careful, structured analysis on complex problems to support defensible conclusions and solutions.
• Detailed approach to gathering requirements to form coherent specifications and related material.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and the Business Analyst role within it.
• Experience in delivering test strategies and clear, concise test cases.
• 3+ years’ experience with Python and/or Java.
• Bachelors degree in finance, management, business, computer science, or computer engineering preferred.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Some development experience and/or knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with business process modelling and optimization and its documentation.
• Ability to independently plan, organize and manage one’s own work and provide guidance for others.
• Hands-on experience with programming, querying, or scripting languages.
• Understanding of market or credit risk and related regulations.
• Ability to analyze regulatory requirements and produce formal specifications.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $90,000-$180,000
