We are seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to support a major Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) Internal Models Approach (IMA) program for a leading global financial institution. This is a software engineering role within Market Risk / Risk Technology, rather than a pure Quant Analyst or model-development position.
The role sits between Quantitative Strats, Market Risk, and Software Engineering. We are looking for a strong production engineer with Capital Markets, Market Risk, Risk Technology, or quantitative engineering experience. Direct FRTB IMA experience is highly valued, but candidates with strong Market Risk engineering backgrounds and the ability to learn the specific FRTB implementation are encouraged to apply.
The work spans enhancements to an existing enterprise Market Risk platform supporting Rates and Credit, as well as development on newer strategic infrastructure with a significant focus on Equity-related implementation. Candidates may specialize in Python OR Java – deep expertise in both is not required.
The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office, Market Risk, Quant, and Engineering teams, participate in solution design and analytical discussions, and translate complex or loosely defined requirements into robust, production-quality software.
**The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $210,000.**
