Job summary

IPolarity is seeking a seasoned Technical Business Analyst to support mainframe-based operations in Columbus, GA. The role requires 8–10 years of experience in business analysis, a deep understanding of SDLC, and hands-on COBOL/JCL/SQL skills to drive requirements and process improvements.

Responsibilities include documenting requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, guiding UAT, and ensuring compliance with security and controls.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in business analysis.

• Experience with mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, SQL, and Mainframe Utilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing business processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and modernization opportunities.
• Gather, document, and manage business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, development, and QA teams to define and validate solutions.
• Perform impact analysis and support solution implementation activities.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect tracking and resolution.
• Participate in backlog grooming, prioritization, and sprint planning activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare reports, business documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, security standards, and data protection requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within a mainframe-based environment.
