Job summary

University Health is seeking a supportive radiology support aide to assist radiology staff in expediting procedures while maintaining patient safety. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and promoting the Guest Relations Program.

The candidate will work in a radiology environment, with emphasis on safety and patient comfort, and may participate in ongoing clinical coursework or related healthcare training as described above.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in Radiology Technologist program with at least one semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a recognized nursing attendant/aide program OR six months experience as a nursing attendant, patient transporter or other related health care experience may be a substitute.
• Experience in a radiology working environment is preferred, with knowledge of safety issues.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates an understanding of all procedures performed, a thorough understanding of all work processes and safety issues in specific assigned area, and possesses excellent customer service initiatives. Recognizes patient's physical limitation and provides appropriate support to assure patient's safety. Helps to expedite patient's procedures by assisting the radiology technologist in any area of the radiology department. Promotes the University Health System's Guest Relations Program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Enrollment in a Radiology Technologist program with at least one semesters of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a recognized nursing attendant/aide program OR six months experience as a nursing attendant, patient transporter or other related health care experience may be a substitute. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
