Location: United States – Remote / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-Time/C2C
Experience: 8+ years overall, including 5+ years of Salesforce experience
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to lead the architecture and solution design of enterprise Salesforce implementations. The architect will work closely with customers, business stakeholders, delivery teams, and Salesforce leadership to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
The ideal candidate combines strong Salesforce platform expertise, consulting skills, architecture leadership, and executive-level communication. The role will be customer-facing and will have responsibility from discovery and solution design through implementation and production deployment.
Salesforce itself characterizes architects as trusted advisors who bridge business requirements and technical implementation while making architecture decisions across data, security, integrations, DevOps, and platform design. (Salesforce)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture and design for complex Salesforce transformation programs.
- Conduct discovery workshops and translate business requirements into functional and technical architecture.
- Design scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Data Cloud/Data 360 and Agentforce, depending on customer requirements.
- Define Salesforce data models, security architecture, sharing models, integration architecture and application design.
- Architect integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications such as SAP, ERP, middleware, data platforms and external applications.
- Evaluate configuration vs. customization vs. AppExchange solutions and provide clear architectural recommendations.
- Establish integration patterns using APIs, events and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft.
- Provide architecture oversight for Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow and platform automation.
- Define non-functional requirements covering scalability, performance, security, maintainability and large data volumes.
- Establish development, release management, CI/CD and DevOps governance standards.
- Conduct architecture and design reviews and ensure development teams follow Salesforce best practices.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and architectural trade-offs early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership to developers, consultants, business analysts and integration teams.
- Participate in customer presentations, solution demonstrations, estimates and implementation planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customer IT and business leadership, explaining complex architecture decisions in business terms.
- Support pre-sales activities including solutioning, effort estimation, architecture presentations and proposal development when required.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall IT/consulting experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce implementation experience.
- Proven experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Lead Architect on enterprise implementations.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, configuration and development.
- Strong understanding of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud; experience with additional Salesforce clouds is highly desirable.
- Experience designing complex integration and data architectures.
- Strong understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven integration and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with Apex, LWC, Flow and Salesforce security architecture.
- Understanding of Salesforce governor limits, large data volumes, performance and scalability considerations.
- Experience with Agile delivery and enterprise DevOps/release management.
- Strong customer-facing consulting and workshop facilitation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both C-level/business stakeholders and technical engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect credentials.
- Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect / B2C Solution Architect.
- Salesforce Certified Data Architect, Integration Architect, Sharing & Visibility Architect or related certifications.
- Experience with Data Cloud/Data 360 and Agentforce.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with SAP S/4HANA or other enterprise ERP platforms.
- MuleSoft architecture or implementation experience.
- Previous experience working for a Salesforce consulting or implementation partner.
Salesforce's current architecture guidance emphasizes multi-product solution design, data governance, integration, security, stakeholder alignment, and the ability to articulate architectural trade-offs—all reflected in this role profile. (Salesforce)
