Position Summary
We are seeking a Technical Architect who is passionate about creating meaningful, high-impact places that strengthen communities. In this role, you will lead the technical development of complex, mid- to large-scale projects, serving as a key contributor to the design excellence that defines Integrus. You will play an important role in advancing our culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration while helping to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and communities.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will translate complex design concepts into thoughtful, high-performing solutions that balance design intent, technical rigor, and project goals. Drawing on deep expertise in building systems, technical design, code compliance, and project delivery methods, you will guide and mentor project teams throughout all phases of design and construction, with primary involvement from design development through construction administration.

As a trusted advisor and technical leader, you will elevate technical knowledge across the firm, champion quality and continuous improvement, and help establish the standards and best practices that support exceptional project delivery. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of learning, mentoring emerging professionals, and advancing our collective technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development of complex projects through design, documentation, and construction, ensuring alignment with project goals, design intent, and firm standards.
  • Understand the difference in documentation and construction administration approach relative to Design-Build, GC/CM, and
  • Design-Bid-Build delivery methods.
    Serve as a technical authority on building systems, constructability, code compliance, detailing, and construction documentation.
  • Champion technical excellence and quality by leading QA/QC reviews and promoting consistency, accuracy, and best practices across project teams.
  • Guide project teams through technical decision-making, balancing performance, cost, schedule, sustainability, and long-term building success.
  • Provide expertise in codes and regulatory requirements, including life safety, accessibility, permitting, and approval strategies to reduce risk and support successful project outcomes.
  • Evaluate and recommend building systems, materials, and assemblies that support design objectives, constructability, durability, and value.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, designers, consultants, and contractors to proactively identify, coordinate, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Support construction administration efforts, including RFIs, submittals, field observations, and technical problem-solving during construction.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, codes, products, and industry trends, sharing knowledge and advancing technical innovation across the firm.
  • Mentor and develop architects and design professionals, fostering technical growth, elevating documentation standards, and strengthening project delivery practices.
  • Advance firmwide technical standards and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and project performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Current architectural licensure (required).
  • Minimum of15+ yearsof professional architectural experience, with significant expertise in technical design, detailing, construction documentation, and project delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes, accessibility (ADA), life safety, building systems, and construction standards.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and coordinating complex building projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and a strong commitment to BIM-integrated project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of interdisciplinary coordination, constructability, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions.
  • Ability to mentor and guide project teams while fostering technical excellence across the firm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public sector projects, such as PreK-12 Education, Higher Education, Government Projects or other Civic facilities.
  • Experience leading technical reviews, QA/QC initiatives, or developing firmwide technical standards.
  • Knowledge of sustainable building systems and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge).
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Revit, and other Sustainability Software.
  • Experience mentoring architects and design professionals or serving in a firm-wide technical leadership role.

Salary Range

This position offers between $110,000 and $130,000 per year. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
