Job summary

Nestlé Health Science seeks an on-site Technical Applications Group Specialist in Leonia, NJ to drive product innovation within a structured technical framework. You will collaborate across Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to optimize formulations, address manufacturing issues, assess new technologies, and support cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities include BOM and recipe maintenance, MES updates, documentation control, and coordination of scale-up, validation, and tech

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharma science, food science, or related field.
• 1+ year of hands-on product development, formulation, and solid-dose manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of product development, technical/manufacturing processes, and food science principles.
• Experience leading medium-complexity technical projects in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with SAP, SPSS, and/or Minitab for data management and process improvement.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• BOM creation/maintenance to ensure accuracy and efficiency in manufacturing.
• SAP recipe maintenance and MES updates.
• Maintain finished product shelf life files and compliance records.
• Prepare and follow up on industrial trials and confirmations.
• Support quality assessments and process documentation updates.
• Create and maintain block diagrams and process flows.
• Provide operations support for investigations and Go See Think Do activities.
• Daily factory operation support and cross-functional collaboration.
• Assist with product/process renovation through formulation adjustments and improvements.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation (recipes, batch records, specs) per SOPs and QMS.
• Analyze data for statistical evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Quality, Procurement, R&D, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and changes to management.
• Support scale-up, validation, and technology transfer with partners.
• Engage with suppliers and stay current on industry trends.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional teamwork.
