Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking a Technical Apparel Designer in Pittsfield, NH, to drive pattern development, technical drawings, and documentation across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure fit, durability, and performance.

The role emphasizes wear trials, field evaluations, and incorporating feedback to enhance PPE products. Required are 2+ years in multi-layer apparel design and strong knowledge of patternmaking, grading, and garment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Apparel Product Development, Textile Design, or Apparel Design.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in multi-layer apparel design, technical design, pattern development, or garment product development.
Demonstrated knowledge of patternmaking, grading, and garment construction.

Responsibilities

Support pattern development, garment fittings, prototype evaluations, wear trials, and design reviews to ensure products meet fit, performance, and customer requirements.
Create and maintain technical drawings, pattern libraries, tech packs, BOMs, and other design documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development process.
Incorporate manufacturing and operations feedback into garment designs to support product quality and manufacturability.
Support user-centered product development activities including wear trials, field evaluations, and customer feedback analysis.
Contribute to cross-functional project teams developing new PPE products and product enhancements.
