Job summary

MSA Safety seeks a skilled pattern designer to advance multi-layer apparel products for PPE markets. You will develop patterns, manage tech packs, and collaborate across design, engineering, and manufacturing to meet performance and quality standards.

You will build and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, and design documentation while refining garment construction, fit, and durability. This role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, wear trials, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver innovative PPE

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in multi-layer apparel design, technical design, pattern development, or garment product development.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, and fit evaluation.
• Proficiency with CAD pattern-development software such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, CLO3D or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support pattern development, garment fittings, prototype evaluations, wear trials, and design reviews to ensure products meet fit, performance, and customer requirements.
• Create and maintain technical drawings, pattern libraries, tech packs, BOMs, and other design documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development process.
• Incorporate manufacturing and operations feedback into garment designs to support product quality and manufacturability.
• Support user-centered product development activities including wear trials, field evaluations, and customer feedback analysis.
• Contribute to cross-functional project teams developing new PPE products and product enhancements.
