Job description

Overview

Responsible for providing marketing, underwriting, and analytical support to the field and clients.

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities, and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do
  • Provide marketing/underwriting/analytical support to Employee Benefits (EB) consulting practice for both fully insured and self-funded programs.
  • Coordinate with COE marketing team and EB benefits practice to prepare carrier marketing RPFs and analysis.
  • Spread benefits and rates for renewals and marketings.
  • Develop benefit comparisons and projections with a high level of accuracy.
  • Peer review renewal calculations and utilization reports.
  • Develop relationships and request renewals with marketing representatives of various insurance companies.
  • Provide administrative support to the team as necessary.
What You'll Need
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in group employee benefits required.
  • Basic underwriting skills and understanding of funding methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • Possess negotiating skills and mathematical ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, and strong organizational skills.

Compensation:

The target salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Remote work environment flexibility but candidate must reside in California.
