Top Aces Inc. is seeking a Technical Airworthiness Assistant in Mesa, AZ to support airworthiness, quality, and regulatory compliance across aircraft operations in accordance with FAA, U.S.

Air Force, DCMA, and international authorities. The role involves managing airworthiness documentation, regulatory submissions, audits, and data for internal/external reviews, collaborating with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams, and ensuring ISO/AS9110C compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting FAA-regulated civil aircraft maintenance, technical airworthiness, aviation quality, or compliance programs.
  • Technical diploma in aviation maintenance, quality systems, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and aviation experience.
  • Experience supporting military or former-military aircraft programs preferred.
  • FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or A&P certificate highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining accurate airworthiness documentation, including FAA AIP materials, department manuals, DCMA documentation, FAA Special Airworthiness Certificates, and maintenance and operational records.
  • Track and maintain required aircraft documentation, including FAA registrations, FAA Special Airworthiness Certificates, USAF Military Flight Releases, and related records.
  • Assist with 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station audits and track associated training, qualification, and prerequisite requirements.
  • Assist in preparing airworthiness and aircraft modification documentation packages for submission to the FAA, U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), and applicable foreign military authorities.
  • Support Company Quality and Safety Management Systems (QMS/SMS), including controlled document updates, procedure implementation tracking, ISO/AS9110C compliance and audits, and compilation of documentation and data for internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities (e.g., ATF as applicable).
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other stakeholders to support established airworthiness and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Technical Airworthiness Assistant supports technical airworthiness, quality, and regulatory compliance activities across Company aircraft operations in accordance with FAA, U.S. Air Force, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and applicable international military aviation authority requirements. This position provides technical and administrative support for airworthiness documentation, regulatory submissions, quality and safety programs, and compliance activities supporting civil and military aircraft operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining accurate and complete technical airworthiness documentation, including FAA Aircraft Inspection Program (AIP) materials, department manuals, DCMA documentation, FAA Special Airworthiness Certificates, and maintenance and operational records supporting airworthiness decisions.
  • Track and maintain required aircraft documentation, including FAA registrations, FAA Special Airworthiness Certificates, USAF Military Flight Releases, and related records.
  • Assist with 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station audits and track associated training, qualification, and prerequisite requirements.

  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other stakeholders to support established airworthiness and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be familiar with FAA airworthiness concepts, aircraft maintenance documentation, and applicable aviation regulations.
  • Familiarity with aircraft inspection principles; F-16 or other military aircraft experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable aviation regulatory and airworthiness frameworks, including 14 CFR, FAA Order 8130.2M (as revised), MIL-HDBK-516, and DCMA Instruction 8210.1D.
  • Familiarity with controlled Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS), including ISO/AS9110C requirements.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to review, track, maintain, and control technical and regulatory documentation and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Ability to understand and work with technical information, engineering documentation, maintenance records, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the Technical Airworthiness Assistant in daily work performance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a CAC (Common Access Card) and not be barred from any installation.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience supporting FAA-regulated civil aircraft maintenance, technical airworthiness, aviation quality, or compliance programs.
  • Technical diploma in aviation maintenance, quality systems, a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and aviation experience.
  • Experience supporting military or former-military aircraft programs preferred.
  • FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate highly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with standard lighting, noise levels, and climate conditions.
  • This role may be performed around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
