Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance technician to perform heavy maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on company aircraft. You will work on flightline operations, require FAA A&P certification, and maintain strict compliance with manuals and safety directives.

The role involves preflight and post-flight inspections, tool control duties, parts ordering, and required training. On-site work with potential for clearances and U.S. citizenship prerequisites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 4+ years of heavy aircraft maintenance and/or hands-on flightline operations in high‑tempo environments.
• FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or A&P certification.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints and diagrams to repair components.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform launch, recovery, inspections/maintenance, and ground handling.

• Perform inspections and maintenance per FAA regulations and manuals.
• Service, operate and maintain ground support equipment; clean aircraft and work areas.
• Complete all maintenance docs before shift end.
• Assist in Tool Control Program and Tool Room duties.
• Assist in removal/installation of components.
• Order parts through Air Force supply system and manage urgency designators.
• Complete training within prescribed timelines.
• Perform other position-related duties.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Adheres to all Technical Orders, GOPs/SOPs, Air Force Instructions, and any other directives identified by Site Management or the PWS.
• Perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections/maintenance.
• Preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing.
• Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance.
• Services aircraft. Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
• Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components.
• Performs inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer and company maintenance manuals and procedures.

• Services, operates, and maintains ground support equipment and performs interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas.
• Completes aircraft forms and maintenance information systems documentation accurately, completing all documentation as soon as practical, but always prior to the end of shift.
• Assists in implementing the Tool Control Program and may be required to staff the Tool Room section to meet contract performance requirements.
• Assists in removal and installation of components.
• Orders parts and equipment through the Air Force supply system and ensures supply discipline, categorizing orders in accordance with Air Force parts/supply/equipment urgency designators.
• Completes assigned training requirements during prescribed timelines.

• Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalentpreferred.
• Minimum four (4) years of heavy aircraft maintenance and/or hands‑on flightline operations, real‑time troubleshooting, and mission‑critical aircraft turnaround in high‑tempo environments and/or
• FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
• Mustread,interpretand use manufacturers andaircraftmaintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, datatablesand other specifications todeterminefeasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Mustpossessa current state issueddriverslicense.
• Must obtain andmaintaina Secret clearance.NOTE: U.S. citizenship isrequiredfor facility credentials/authorization at this work site.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

• Must possess the ability to carry and lift overhead up to 50 pounds.
• Duties include walking, climbing, standing, stooping, stretching, and squatting for purposes of moving equipment, boarding and de-boarding the aircraft, performing maintenance using ladders, and performing maintenance atop and below aircraft.
• Work is primarily performed outside in a high-level noise environment.
• Performing maintenance in low-light areas, operating support equipment after daylight hours. Work is occasionally performed in inclement weather.
