Corewell Health's Emergency Center in Farmington Hills is seeking a part-time patient care specialist to support the fast-paced ER, assist with vital signs, monitors, and patient transport.

You'll work with the patient care team, stock equipment, and provide companionship, while upholding Corewell Health's service standards and commitment to a safe, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification preferred.

About This Unit

The emergency Center at Corewell Farmington Hills is a fast paced, high acuity Level 2 trauma center. Seeing over 100,000 patients a year makes it the 3rd busiest in the state.

About Farmington Hills Hospital

This hospital has grown in size and capabilities over the decades to become a Level II trauma center, serving the community since 1965. It also serves as the base teaching hospital for Michigan State University.

Scope of work

Assist the patient care team in stocking and maintaining equipment in the Emergency Room, provide patient care such as obtaining vital signs, applying monitors, transporting EC Service Line patients to and from testing and to the patient care units, and in certain circumstances, to provide companionship and observation to patients in order to limit purposeful or non-purposeful self-inflicted injury.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Related patient care experience is desirable.
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification and other certifications as required by department.
• Ability to demonstrate Beaumont customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance.
• Reinforces hospital customer service recovery program and identifies customer service recovery opportunities
• Basic computer skills essential.
• Must at all times demonstrate courteous behavior, give clear directions, maintain high standards of personal appearance, introduce self by name and function, treat all customers with dignity, provide comfort, provide clear and adequate information, respond promptly to requests for service, maintain confidentiality, and be ambassadors of Corewell Health.
