This is a temporary on-call position at a renowned veterinary medical center, providing an exciting opportunity to work closely with animal patients. This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
The successful candidate will work on animal patients; monitor temperature, pulse, and respiration; monitor IV fluid administration; walk animals outside; clean ward areas, stock supplies; process lab samples and medication orders; enter charges in the hospital information system; and assist clinicians, veterinary technicians, and clinical students with animal patients in the Emergency and Critical Care Unit of the Veterinary Medical Center.
Experience with general handling of cats and dogs; knowledge of animal restraint for blood collection and IV catheter placement; positioning for X-rays and IV fluid monitoring; and previous exposure to monitoring equipment such as IV fluid pumps, EKG, pulse oximeter, and Doppler blood pressure.

Lifting animal patients onto cages and medical equipment; carrying animals between cages and exam tables and gurneys; pushing carts containing animals and equipment to other units; climbing stairs while carrying lab samples; restraining animals; and preparing for medical procedures and treatments.
