Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Technical Advisor (SETA) for pre-hospital resuscitation and extracorporeal life support, based onsite in Arlington, VA.

You will support a DARPA program manager, oversee technical execution across performers, and help advance autonomous pre-hospital organ support with innovative devices and data analysis.

Requires a biomedical engineering advanced degree, 9+ years of experience, and active Secret clearance; travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or doctorate in biomedical engineering, physiology, medicine, perfusion science, or a related field.
• 9+ years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in resuscitation science, critical care, or medical device development.
• Experience with designing, conducting, or overseeing large-animal translational studies.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Ability to travel periodically to performer locations, program reviews, conferences, and other meetings.
• Ability to work onsite in Arlington, VA, up to full-time based on client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and programmatic support to a DARPA Program Manager leading research on pre-hospital resuscitation and organ support.
• Manage day-to-day technical execution across performers developing cannulas, anti-thrombotic surfaces, and automated resuscitation tools.
• Oversee large-animal studies and help shape future work in autonomous pre-hospital resuscitation and organ support.
