Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a Technical SETA - Medical Robotics Subject Matter Expert to provide onsite support at Arlington, VA, assisting DARPA program managers and ensuring rigorous technical oversight of cutting-edge medical robotics initiatives.

The candidate will apply a strong technical background, possess 9+ years of relevant experience, and hold an active TS/SCI clearance. A Bachelor's in engineering is required, with a Master’s or PhD preferred, to evaluate

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical/biomedical, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
• 9+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to assess integration and validity of robotic platforms, surgical end effectors, and multi-modal sensor suites.
• Ensuring system architectures adhere to established standards for medical device software, safety protocols, and autonomous system development.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Able to work fully onsite in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide foundational subject matter expertise and programmatic support to DARPA Biological Technologies Office (BTO) Program Managers.
• Translate core principles of medical robotics, autonomous systems, and surgical technology into technical oversight and performer management.
• Support DARPA programs focused on developing autonomous robotic systems for interventional trauma care in austere environments.
