Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Corona, CA is seeking a Technical Advisor - Plastics Extrusion (2nd Shift) to lead extrusion process optimization and provide expert support to production and engineering teams.

You will collaborate on new product development, mentor operators, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality, and GMP compliance in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Diploma
• 8+ years extrusion experience including process/tooling design, setup, hands-on troubleshooting
• Experience with thermoplastic extrusion processes including a variety of mixes and materials
• Experience with MS Office Applications
• Experience training, coaching, mentoring, and influencing others

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external project engineers in developing processes and tooling that meet customer expectations on cost, quality and delivery of new product development.
• Build the technical competencies of operators by sharing process knowledge, problem-solving thought process and techniques, and experience.
• Coachshift teams to troubleshoot to solve operational issues.
• Improveoperator's knowledge regarding process and equipment functionality and performance.
• Directly solve problems and support others in their problem-solving and formal root cause analyses.
• Assist in creating, developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist customer complaint investigation and corrective actions for area of expertise.

Salary Range: $106,000 – 129,000 plus 6% Bonus

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Technical Advisor- Extrusion (2nd Shift) serves as our subject matter expert for our extrusion processes and equipment. Our Technical Advisors drive innovation and excellence. Working with our Production and Engineering teams to solve customer challenges resolve process issues to meet business and site performance objectives. In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with internal and external project engineers in developing processes and tooling that meet customer expectations on cost, quality and delivery of new product development.

• Collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and improvement personnel to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Share and leverageknowledge, experience, and best practices with applicable stakeholders.
• Leadandsupports targeted process and productivity improvement teams ( e.g., work with improvement and reliability engineers to resolve operational issues).
• Supportwork process and best practice implementation.
• Contributeto updating and improving the area's operating discipline and procedures.
• Perform internal compliance auditing to process.
• Investigatenon-conformances and customer complaints regarding products and recommends permanent manufacturing improvements to correct and prevent recurrences.
• Diagnosing manufacturing problems and recommending corrective and preventative actions
• Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
• Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical devices and a clean room environment context.
• Convert various units of measurement.

Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success
