Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Corona, CA is seeking a Technical Advisor – Extrusion (2nd Shift) to lead extrusion operations and drive continuous improvement. The role focuses on developing processes, coaching operators, and resolving manufacturing issues to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

The candidate will work closely with project engineers, maintenance and reliability personnel, and customer teams to implement corrective actions and best practices while adhering to GMP in a clean room

Qualifications

• 8+ years extrusion experience including process/tooling design, setup, hands-on troubleshooting.
• Experience with thermoplastic extrusion processes including a variety of mixes and materials.
• Experience with MS Office Applications.
• Experience training, coaching, mentoring, and influencing others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external project engineers in developing processes and tooling that meet customer expectations on cost, quality and delivery of new product development.
• Build the technical competencies of operators by sharing process knowledge, problem-solving thought process and techniques, and experience.
• Coach shift teams to troubleshoot and solve operational issues.
• Improve operator's knowledge regarding process and equipment functionality and performance.
• Directly solve problems and support others in their problem-solving and formal root cause analyses.
• Assist in creating, developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist customer complaint investigation and corrective actions for area of expertise.
• Collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and improvement personnel to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Share and leverage knowledge, experience, and best practices with applicable stakeholders.
• Lead and support targeted process and productivity improvement teams (e.g., work with improvement and reliability engineers to resolve operational issues).
• Support work process and best practice implementation.
• Contribute to updating and improving the area's operating discipline and procedures.
• Perform internal compliance auditing to process.
• Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints regarding products and recommend permanent manufacturing improvements to correct and prevent recurrences.
• Diagnose manufacturing problems and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Observe and promote company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
• Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical devices and a clean room environment context.
• Convert various units of measurement.

Salary: $106,000 – $129,000 plus 6% bonus
