Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Technical Accounting Project Manager to join the Accounting Advisory Group at our Juno Beach, FL headquarters. You will work on complex, high-impact transactions and partner with business, finance, and legal teams to assess accounting implications and guide decision-making.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

6+ years of public accounting experience or a combination of public accounting and industry experience in accounting research, technical accounting, and/or financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex accounting matters clearly and practically.
Demonstrated leadership, project management, and collaboration skills with a track record of contributing to high-performing teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Prior exposure to technical accounting matters such as consolidations, business combinations, leases, revenue recognition, financial instruments, debt, and equity financings is a plus.

Responsibilities

Works with management to consider the accounting implications of alternative deal structures.
Keeps senior management informed about potential changes in accounting rules and their impact on the Companies’ financial statements.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
