Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Principal Accountant to join the Unregulated Property Accounting team at FCOE. The role requires advanced accounting knowledge, leads complex initiatives, mentors staff, and ensures GAAP compliance across accounting close processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles with demonstrated leadership.

Responsibilities

• Analyses proposed transactions for structure and proper accounting treatment under authoritative accounting literature.
• Reviews changes in technical accounting literature, develops positions and presents to management.
• Maintains awareness of accounting issues considered by regulatory bodies and advises management on important matters.
• Ensures consistent application of accounting policies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
