Job summary

Sempra is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting, Advisory and Policy in Southern California. HYBRID work arrangement combines onsite and remote days, with leadership over accounting policy, technical accounting, and advisory activities across the enterprise.

The role focuses on complex transactions, policy initiatives, and ensuring consistent application of US GAAP, with collaboration across executive leadership and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Typically requires 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA license required.
• Big Four or related advisory experience preferred in technical accounting.
• Experience leading teams and influencing executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach technical accounting professionals and managers; shape long-term talent strategy.
• Advise executive leadership on accounting implications and risk; ensure integrity of financial reporting.
• Evaluate complex transactions and drive accounting policy initiatives and new standards.
• Oversee policy and research across the organization; liaise with external auditors.
