Job summary

The Nuclear Company is leading the way in AI-enabled nuclear energy projects, seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to research, evaluate, and document US GAAP positions for complex transactions. This role focuses on revenue recognition for long-term EPC contracts and partnerships, while monitoring new standards for fleet-scale deployment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience including Big 4 public accounting plus industry technical accounting.
• Active CPA required.
• Deep knowledge of ASC 606/912 (long-term contracts/construction), business combinations, and equity method investments.
• Strong technical accounting writing skills.
• Experience partnering directly with external auditors on complex positions.

Responsibilities

• Research GAAP positions for complex, non-routine transactions.
• Own revenue recognition policy for long-term EPC/construction contracts (ASC 606/912).
• Account for joint-venture and partnership structures (e.g., equity method) or VIE consolidation.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards & policies.
• Partner with external auditors on technical accounting positions.
• Build a technical accounting memo library and review process.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate technical accounting research, summarize new accounting guidance, draft memoranda, and improve documentation quality.
