Reworld Waste in Florham Park, NJ seeks a Manager of Technical Accounting to handle complex accounting issues, including stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, and impairment considerations. You will support SEC disclosures and ensure robust internal controls while collaborating with auditors and business leadership.

The role reports to the Director of Technical Accounting and requires a CPA with 7–10 years of relevant experience, preferably Big 4, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with SEC filings is required.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and internal control concepts is required.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze complex information/transactions and apply accounting theory.

Responsibilities

• Research the impact of new or proposed accounting standards and regulations (SEC, FASB, AICPA, EITF).
• Prepare high-quality white papers for auditors and stakeholders and manage timely resolution of financial reporting implications.
• Maintain an up-to-date library of accounting policies and procedures.
• Research US GAAP and IFRS implications on proposed transactions.
• Review new contracts for accounting implications under existing standards.
• Coordinate with leadership on policy applications for revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, and impairments.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors to resolve outstanding matters.
• Perform duties as a high-energy, performance-driven team member.
• Self-prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Lead cross-functional meetings with stakeholders and ensure follow-ups.
