Position Title: Technical Accounting Manager
Location: Tampa - 5x/week in office
Assignment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $200-220K base

Job Description:
- Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results while driving process improvements to shorten close timelines.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements and management reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP and applicable industry standards.
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical guidance to ensure consistency, compliance, and accuracy.
- Manage the chart of accounts and cost accounting structure to support job costing, equipment costs, depreciation, and maintenance across projects, divisions, and subsidiaries.
- Oversee federal and state tax compliance, including income, payroll, sales and use, while coordinating with external tax advisors and identifying available tax opportunities.
- Lead the annual financial audit, serving as the primary auditor contact and coordinating schedules, workpapers, documentation, and inquiries.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure data integrity, and address control deficiencies.
- Optimize accounting systems and processes, including the company’s ERP, and partner with IT on system improvements.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including the Controller, Accounting Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting Manager, and Payroll Manager, while setting performance standards and partnering with the CFO on strategic priorities.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA required
- 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in an Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar leadership role.
- Comfortable in a high-intensity environment that may require more than a traditional 40-hour workweek.
- Big 4/public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- ERP implementation experience is a major plus; IFS experience is ideal.
- Experience in construction, equipment rental, manufacturing, or another capital-intensive industry preferred.
- MBA/advanced degree and specific industry or ERP experience are flexible for candidates with strong technical accounting and leadership experience.
