Job summary

Apptronik in Austin is seeking an experienced Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Senior Manager to join as the first member of our technical accounting function.

Reporting to the Controller, you will serve as the primary resource for complex accounting matters and the accounting implications of new initiatives, partnering with Finance, Legal, Operations, and executives to support growth and IPO readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation required with current knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-4 years in Big 4 or national firm.
• Experience with revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, equity and financing transactions, and software capitalization.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and lead research, interpretation, and application of complex standards.
• Lead preparation of technical accounting memos, policies, and disclosures support public-company readiness.
• Own technical accounting and financial reporting aspects of audit, IPO readiness, and SEC reporting.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and leadership to evaluate significant transactions and provide accounting guidance.
• Support monthly/quarterly close for technical accounting and help develop scalable processes and controls.
