Job summary

Berkeley Research Group, LLC seeks a Technical Accounting Manager to evaluate and establish positions on complex accounting matters within the Controller organization. You'll work with executives, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable financial reporting.

The role oversees stock-based compensation and lease accounting, supports M&A activity, and helps develop global accounting policies.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with complex topics (e.g., equity, leases, M&A).
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and resolve unstructured accounting issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret new and evolving accounting standards, assessing their impact on the organization and leading implementation efforts.
• Develop and formally document the company’s position on complex technical accounting issues, including preparation of supporting memoranda.
• Present technical accounting conclusions to senior leadership, external auditors, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
• Own and refine the company’s global accounting policies for U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Consult cross-functionally with Tax, FP&A, and General Ledger on technical accounting matters.
• Oversee accounting for stock-based compensation and lease accounting, including process improvements.
• Coordinate with financial reporting to ensure timely GAAP-compliant statements across entities.
