Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Accountant I, Reporting and Analysis to join our growing accounting team in Texas. You will support month-end close, perform technical accounting research, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

The role collaborates with FP&A and non-finance units, helps maintain internal controls, and assists external audits. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), 0–2 years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 0–2 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting/public company experience.
• Familiarity with public company reporting, documentation and audit requirements.
• Experience performing technical accounting research for complex transactions.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting, ICFR.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Develop and improve accounting policies and procedures.
• Research and apply accounting standards for revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, and complex transactions.
• Document and implement new accounting pronouncements.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and external audits.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A and non-finance units to ensure timely financial information.
• Support special projects as needed.
