Firefly Aerospace, headquartered in Texas, seeks a Senior Accountant to lead the close process under US GAAP and ensure internal controls compliance. The role supports financial reporting, audit readiness, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with ERP systems and close automation tools. CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in publicly traded company, manufacturing, or Big 4/a national firm preferred.
• CPA designation or active pursuit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare US GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
• Ensure internal control over financial reporting compliance.
• Research and document technical accounting issues.

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the general ledger close process US GAAP financial reporting and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements This position requires a detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team The ideal candidate will bring good experience and work ethic to the table while being open to learning and adapting to changing priorities in fast paced environment Being familiar with a Sox Compliant environment is important for this position

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Close Participate in and help lead the month end quarter end and year end close processes to meet internal and external financial reporting deadline requirements including preparing journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP Support additional internal financial reporting and compliance with external reporting requirements and related disclosures
• Internal Controls Compliance Ensure compliance with internal control over financial reporting requirements Assist in the documentation testing and remediation of internal controls over financial reporting
• Technical Accounting Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting issues ensuring proper application of accounting pronouncements and company policies
• Audit Support Prepare schedules and provide support for internal and external audits
• Ad hoc Analysis & Projects Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned
• Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with other departments eg FP&A Operations Legal to ensure accurate financial information and support business needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Education Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Experience in a publicly traded company a manufacturing company andor public accounting firm Big 4 or national firm preferred auditing public clients is highly desirable

Preferred QualificationsMinimum

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• System Skills Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel pivot tables complex formulas and ERP systems eg NetSuite SAP Oracle
• Experience with close automation software like FloQast desirable Experience with T&E expense modules desirable Navan Concur etc
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is preferred
