Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to provide diagnostic ultrasound services and operate sonographic equipment independently while communicating results to physicians. The role involves daily lab operations, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, QA, and reporting findings to referring clinicians.

The ideal candidate will hold ARDMS and RVT licenses, be BLS certified, and meet all Employee Health requirements.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and RVT licenses are required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Pass it Test is required.
• Meet all Employee Health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and equipment based on physician orders.
• Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
• Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures.
• Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems.
• Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care.
• Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory.
• Maintains a daily log of patients seen/completes exam billing forms.
• Responsible for compliance with overall practice standards and adheres to the established values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital.
• Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
• Provides compassion to the patient and the patient’s family members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography, responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).
