Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to provide diagnostic sonography services, operate the ultrasound equipment, and communicate results to referring physicians in a timely fashion.

You will perform examinations, ensure patient safety and comfort, participate in QA activities, and support daily operations of the sonography lab with compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• ARDMS and RVT licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Pass IT Test required.
• Meet all Employee Health Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and equipment per physician orders.
• Perform all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Record and adapt procedures based on anatomical and diagnostic information.
• Prepare preliminary reports and contact referring physicians when required.
• Address patient care issues and resolve problems as they arise.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during sonography care.
• Assist with daily operations of the sonographic laboratory.
• Maintain a daily log of patients and exam billing forms.
• Ensure compliance with practice standards and hospital values.

Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography, responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and equipment based on physician orders
• Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
• Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures
• Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems
• Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care
• Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
• Maintains a daily log of patients seen/completes exam billing forms
• Responsible for compliance with overall practice standards and adheres to the established values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others
• Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patientoutcomes
• Providescompassiontothepatientandthepatient’sfamilymembers
• Other duties as assigned

• Required: Current ARDMS and RVTLicensures
• Required: BLS certification
• Preferred: ACLS certification
