Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic sonography and manage the daily operation of the lab. You will work independently, prepare reports, and coordinate with physicians to support patient care.

ARDMS/RVT licensure and BLS are required; ACLS preferred. You will ensure patient safety and comfort in a patient-centered environment and participate in QA and daily laboratory activities.

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS and RVT licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Pass It Test required.
• Meet all Employee Health Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and equipment based on physician orders
• Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
• Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures
• Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems
• Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care
• Assists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
• Maintains a daily log of patients seen/completes exam billing forms
• Responsible for compliance with overall practice standards and adheres to the established values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others
• Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patientoutcomes
• Providescompassiontothepatientandthepatient’sfamilymembers
• Other duties as assigned

Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography, responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).
