Qualifications

Tech TransferProcessEngineer

As aProcess Engineer on our Tech Transferteam, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between New Product Introduction (NPI) andHigh VolumeManufacturing (HVM). Your mission is to transform pilotmanufacturing processes into robust, repeatable, and scalable production solutions that can be successfully launched and sustained in volume production.


You will be hands-on throughout the transfer process: characterizing and maturing processes, developing manufacturing readiness plans,validatingequipment and process capability, troubleshooting production challenges, andestablishingthe documentation and trainingrequiredfor a successful launch.You’llpartner closely with NPI,Design,Operations, Quality, Equipment, and Controls teams to ensure products transition smoothly from launch intostable, capable manufacturing processes that consistently achieve yield, cycle time, and quality targets while minimizing risk during production ramp.


This is a highly cross-functional role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing problems, working directly on the production floor, and turning innovative technologies intoreliable, scalable manufacturing processesthat enable the future of power and data transmission across EV, energy storage,data centers,and aerospace applications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the transfer of products from NPI into high-volume manufacturing, including up to 25% travel to the NPI/development HQ (Redwood City, CA)

  • Scale and mature manufacturing processes from NPI builds torepeatable, high-volume production, with a focus on yield, throughput, cycle time, quality, and manufacturability

  • Establish andvalidateprocess windows, operating parameters, and control strategiesrequiredto achieve production targets.

  • Lead process qualification, capability studies, and structured validation activities todemonstratethat processes can consistently meet production requirements.

  • Partner with customer-facing teams and cross-functional engineering groups toresolve technical gaps and drive launch readiness

  • Providehands-on, on-site launch ownership and line supportduring high-volumeramp, including troubleshooting, debugging, and rapid resolution of process issues.

  • Conduct structured experiments and root cause analysis to de-risk manufacturing scale-up and accelerate product launches

  • Work hands-on with high-volume manufacturing equipment

  • Developandmaintainmanufacturingdocumentation and train staff to ensure smooth handoff fromTech Transfer into sustained high-volume production

Experience/Education


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on professional experience


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Proven experiencetransitioningprocesses from pilot production into high-volumeproduction

  • Strong background in process design for manufacturability, yield improvement,and cost reduction

  • Experience withproduction launches, process transfers, and manufacturing scale-up activities

  • Priormanufacturingstart-up experience.

  • Familiarity with advanced materials and high-volume manufacturing methods (e.g., vacuum lamination,thermally-activatedadhesives, roll-to-roll processing, material patterning, laser welding)

  • Solid background in statistical methods, data visualization, systematic experiment design, and related software (e.g.JMP, Minitab, etc.)

  • Ability to synthesize and interpret complex data sets to understand physical phenomena and support data-driven decisions

  • Ability tosafely and confidently operate and troubleshoot custom manufacturing and metrology equipment

  • Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills andnew technology

  • Strong organization skills and a detail-oriented mindset

  • Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting

  • Strong communicator and collaborator, energized by working across functions to bring products to market

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, mainly to our HQ in Redwood City, CA.

Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.
