Job summary

Scripps Research in La Jolla, CA seeks an Intern to support the Office of Technology Development. You will help develop marketing materials, assess technologies, and update the OTD database and website as part of a small, dynamic team.

This part-time, 3-month internship offers a hands-on look at technology transfer in a world-class biomedical research setting, with opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals and contribute to early-stage portfolio activities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate life sciences degree required.
• Advanced degree (MD/PhD/MBA) not required but will be considered.
• Strong scientific technical and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of business development concepts, market research and licensing.
• Willingness to work across diverse therapeutic areas and modalities.
• High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop non-confidential and confidential slide decks and marketing materials to support OTD’s Corporate Development function.
• Assess opportunities in the portfolio by researching industry landscape, competitive information, relevant technologies, historical/comparable terms and transactions.
• Generate and upload non-technical communication and educational materials to OTD’s intranet and website.
• Organize and update OTD’s internal database and track BD interactions and developments.
• Part-time: Up to 12 hours per week.
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
• This position is expected to last 3 months.
