Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC in Leawood, KS seeks a Technical Support Specialist I to provide day-to-day operations and user support for MHC systems. This on-site role requires five days in the Leawood office.

You will assist users with PCs, networks, and vendor applications, document calls, and coordinate with senior staff while helping configure hardware and software. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered within a large dealer network.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication in a support context.
• Solid project management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and common business software.
• Demonstrated understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and current Windows environments.
• A+ or higher IT certification or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial support to all users of PCs, networks, and peripherals.
• Assist with vendor applications and coordinate with vendors for issues.
• Refer complex issues to higher-level specialists or engineers as needed.
• Set up and configure PCs, printers, and approved software.
• Document each support call in the Help Desk system.
• Manage projects and meet deadlines under supervision.

Job description

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Technical Support Specialist I. The Technical Support Specialist I is to provide day to day operations and technical support to all users of the MHC systems. This position is fully in office 5 days a week in Leawood, KS.

• Provides initial support and assistance to all users of PCs, PC Networks and related peripheral devices. This includes the support of “approved” PC software applications.
• Provides initial support to users of vendor applications; analyzes problems and contacts vendors for support if necessary. Responsible for making sure that vendor system application problems are resolved in a timely manner.
• Responsible for referring support issues to the Technical Support Specialist II or System Engineer when appropriate.
• Makes certain that each user receives timely and adequate support.
• Responsible for the setup & configuration of PC’s, printers and other peripherals.
• Responsible for the setup & configuration of approved software.
• Responsible for making sure that each call for support is properly documented using the MHC Help Desk System.
• Responsible for managing projects and meeting deadlines using best judgment to achieve goals. Projects to be assigned by management.
• Work in a rotation with other employees for after-hours technical support of end users. Responsible to ensure all emergency items are resolved in a timely manner. Using other resources when necessary.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
