Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a High School Diploma or 4+ years with an Associate's requirement.
• Reliable attendance at customer site during customer work hours.
• 5+ years installing and servicing commercial or residential low voltage security systems, with at least 2 years in residential, estate, or private community environments.
• Experience with two or more: enterprise VMS, access control, or IP camera platforms.
• Working knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, PoE, switching, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with structured cabling standards, testing and certification.
• Willingness to work on-site, in various conditions, and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Tech Specialist 1to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Community and Hospitality Technical Specialists assist in the design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing integrated low voltage systems at high-net-worth residential estates, private residential communities, and member clubs. This role is field-forward: you will spend most of your time on site, working in occupied residences and amenity spaces where discretion, cleanliness, and finish quality matter as much as system performance. You will support the full stack (video surveillance, access control, perimeter detection, network, radio, and distributed audio) and serve as a technical point of contact for owners, estate managers, security directors, and general contractors.

Residential and Hospitality work is not scaled-down commercial work. Strong candidates protect finished surfaces, conceal pathways and devices to an aesthetic standard, paint and camouflage equipment where it sits in the owner's sightline, schedule around household routines, and leave a site cleaner than they found it. They also know when a field condition warrants stopping and escalating rather than improvising.

Field Installation and Commissioning

• Install and terminate cameras, access control hardware, intercoms, wireless links, enclosures, and supporting infrastructure at interior and exterior locations.
• Build and dress outdoor enclosures to weatherproof standard, including gasketing, ventilation, cable entry sealing, surge protection, and grounding.
• Terminate and test copper and fiber (fusion splicing, LC/SC termination, OTDR and light-source testing), and document all results.
• Configure and commission edge devices: IP cameras, encoders, media converters, PoE and industrial switches, controllers, readers, and IP intercoms.
• Install and verify off-grid and remote power systems (solar controllers, battery banks, DC distribution, surge and lightning protection).

Systems and Integration

• Configure and maintain enterprise VMS and access control platforms, including camera onboarding, license management, retention and archiver configuration, user roles, and third-party plugin integration.
• Support cloud-managed and traditional network deployments: VLAN and subnet assignment, PoE budgeting, switch and AP configuration, and basic firewall rule verification.
• Program and test two-way radio systems, including handhelds, mobiles, repeaters, and dispatch software.
• Configure networked audio systems, amplifiers, and IP media players in residential and amenity spaces.

Troubleshooting and Service

• Diagnose failed or degraded devices to root cause across power, pathway, cable, network, and configuration layers, and repair or replace in a single visit wherever possible.
• Respond to escalated service calls, including after-hours and weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
• Recommend remediation for issues that cannot be resolved in the field, with enough detail to support a scoped proposal.

Documentation and Client Interface

• Produce as-built drawings, device schedules, IP address plans, rack and closet elevations, and labeling that matches the field condition.
• Complete daily field reports, punch lists, and closeout packages.
• Train owners, estate staff, and security personnel on daily operation of delivered systems.
• Communicate professionally with principals, household staff, and their representatives, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding client identity, property layout, security posture, and system vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a High School Diploma 4+ years of experience with an Associate's
• Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
• 5+ years installing and servicing commercial or residential low voltage security systems, with at least 2 years in residential, estate, or private community environments.
• Demonstrated experience with at least two of: enterprise VMS (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, or equivalent), access control (Software House, Salto, LenelS2, Brivo, or equivalent), IP camera platforms (i-PRO, Axis, Hanwha, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of IP networking: addressing, VLANs, PoE, switching, and use of standard diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency with structured cabling standards, testing, and certification.
• Comfortable working from ladders and lifts, in crawlspaces and attics, in trenches, and outdoors in variable weather.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass an extended background check and to work in environments requiring signed non-disclosure agreements.

Pay Range
