Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Project ICT Designer to manage technical day-to-day design of Telecommunications, Security and A/V construction documents. The role collaborates across the Buildings Mountain Engineering team with a focus on high-tech facilities and datacenters. Experience in telecom systems and BIM is essential.

The position is hybrid with on-site client work and badge/background requirements; strong documentation and coordination skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology program, Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering required.
• 5 years' experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• At least 10 years' experience in the installation and maintenance or design and specification of Technology Systems (Telecom, Security, A/V) preferably supporting projects in building sectors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and preparing schematic design and construction documents with emphasis on Technology requirements (Telecom, Security, A/V).
• Building expertise with the latest design software, preferably Revit and BIM modeling.
• Perform site condition surveys.
• Review contract submittals.
• Routinely support multiple design teams and projects while delivering results.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Produce quality work using technology and methodologies that create innovative approaches to building design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willing to work on client site.
• Must be able to meet badging requirements for client sites, including passing a background check.
