Job summary

UF Health is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II to support medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging and delivery. You will assist pharmacists and maintain regulatory compliance while working across multiple areas of the pharmacy.

You may prepare IV medications, verify medications for ADC refills, and help train other technicians. This role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and excellent patient service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: High School Graduate with at least 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
• Registered Pharmacy Intern or Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida is required/licensure.
• 6 months technician experience in relevant practice area.
• One or more years of pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Essential skills include math, patient service, organization, accuracy, flexibility and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Overview

Inpatient pharmacy technicians are responsible for maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging and delivery of medications. They may prepare IV medications and are tasked with maintaining an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications. They also assist the pharmacists in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements. The Pharmacy Technician II will have broader responsibilities in the pharmacy and other specialty areas. They will have responsibility in multiple areas maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, delivery of medications, verifying correct medication is selected for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions, and assisting in the training and education of other technicians. Pharmacy technician II will fulfill all responsibilities of Pharmacy Technician I.

Qualifications

• Required Education:High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred Education:High School Graduate with at least (1) year pharmacy technician experience
• Required Licensure/Certifications:Registered Pharmacy Intern in Florida or Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida
