Job summary

McGuireWoods is seeking a Technical Advisor to support the Commercial Litigation - Patent group by analyzing and understanding computer-related technology in patent matters.

You will work with patent teams to interpret technology, assess standards, and analyze patents and prior art for infringement and invalidity issues. The firm offers a hybrid remote option and values clear communication and initiative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and initiative.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understands developments in technology relevant to patent litigation.
• Analyzes standards and technology embodiments related to the cases.
• Analyzes patents and patent families for infringement and invalidity.
• Provides analyses and industry definitions for terms in patents.
• Conducts research on patents and prior art.
• Conveys knowledge to litigation teams about technology and patents.
