Job summary

McGuireWoods is seeking a Technical Advisor to join the Commercial Litigation - Patent group in Houston. You will assist patent teams by analyzing and understanding computer-related technology at issue in diverse matters.

The role requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to conduct prior art research and explain complex concepts to litigators. A tech background in EE or CS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands the historical and latest developments in technology areas relevant to patent litigation.
• Analyzes standards applicable in technology areas and provides analyses.
• Analyzes embodiments of technology and provides analyses relating to patent infringement and non-infringement.
• Analyzes patents and patent families at issue and provides industry definitions.
• Performs research and analyzes patents and prior art for invalidity purposes.
• Conveys knowledge and teaches litigation teams about technology, products and patents at issue.
