Job summary

Apple News is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to build and maintain full-stack internal applications and data tools that support operational workflows. You will work across engineering and partner-facing teams, applying AI-assisted development practices to ship faster and improve tooling.

This role requires 2–4 years in software engineering or technical operations, strong Python, SQL and NoSQL skills, and experience with React.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years in software engineering or technical operations, with shipped internal tooling or automation systems as evidence.
• Solid Python proficiency applied to scripting, automation, or backend services.
• Hands-on experience designing and optimizing both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with React and related frontend technologies.
• Ability to analyze data and build solutions that drive actionable insights.
• Familiarity and deep interest in applying AI to enhance tooling and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build and own full-stack internal applications that directly accelerate Apple News operational workflows and reduce manual effort at scale.
• Design data tools that surface actionable insights, enabling internal teams to make faster, evidence-backed decisions.
• Drive end-to-end automation of repeatable operational processes, partnering with cross-functional teams to ship solutions.
• Integrate AI-assisted development practices into the team's build cycle, measurably compressing delivery and debugging timelines.
• Triage and resolve publisher-reported technical issues.
