Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. seeks a Multi-Modality Technician (Per Diem, PRN) to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. The ideal candidate will prioritize patient safety while adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a radiologic technologist; multi-modality experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Job description

Multi-Modality Technician (Per Diem, PRN)

Responsibilities

Performs a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities, including Ultrasound, Mammography, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Special Procedures, while maintaining proficiency in general diagnostic radiology. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and adhering to all radiation safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • Completion of AMA-Sponsored School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as radiologic technologist; multi-modality experience is strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Advanced certification in one or more modalities preferred, such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magenetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, or Ultrasound.
Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.

Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.
