Job summary

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta is a 84-bed psychiatric facility in Augusta, GA, providing services to adolescents and adults with individualized programming. The Mental Health Technician supports a patient-centric therapeutic strategy, collaborates with a tenured medical team, and ensures high-quality, cost-effective programming aligned with UHS mission and regulatory standards.

In this role, you will participate in treatment planning, assist in admissions, orient new patients, plan group

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.
• Must be able and willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique program (Handle With Care).
• Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.

The Mental Health Technician opportunity is a key member of the Lighthouse Nursing Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective programming is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for observation rounds of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance issues or inability to function or maintain in the community.
