Job summary

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join the nursing team in Augusta, GA. You will support observation rounds and coordinate patient-centered therapeutic activities as part of our mission to provide high-quality care.

The role requires 21+ years old with relevant education, CPR/First Aid, and willingness to obtain Handle With Care certification; prior experience with adolescents and behavioral health is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old; Associates or Bachelors in a human service field.
• Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Behavioral Technicians encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations in the last 3 years.
• Experience with children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance use preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.
• Must be able and willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique (Handle With Care).
• Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.

The Mental Health Technician opportunity is a key member of the Lighthouse Nursing Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective programming is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for observation rounds of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance issues or inability to function or maintain in the community.
