Job summary

Mesilla Valley Hospital is seeking a PRN Mental Health Technician to support the treatment team at a 120-bed behavioral health facility serving residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona.

The MHT works to maintain safety and cleanliness, collaborates with nurses and experienced MHTs, and serves as a role model while following RN/ Therapist guidance. Flexible shifts are available and commitment to quality care is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; or AA/Bachelor’s in Human Services; or CNA.
• One year of work experience in a behavioral health facility, or related bachelor’s degree with one year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Therapeutically interact with patients and assist in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the unit.
• Collaborate with more experienced MHTs and Nurses to provide a therapeutic milieu under guidance.
• Use training skills consistently and act as a role model to patients and other MHTs.
• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Therapist.
• Demonstrate commitment to Service Excellence program.

Mesilla Valley Hospital is currently seeking a PRN Mental Health Technician.

The MHT therapeutically interacts with the patient and assists in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the unit. Collaborates closely with the more experienced MHTs and Nurses to provide a therapeutic milieu under their guidance. MHTs are expected to use training skills consistently. The MHT functions as an active part of the treatment team, they are role models to patients and other MHT. The MHT work’s under the direction of a Registered Nurse/Therapist. Qualifications

Education

High School Degree/GED required; or Associates Degree in a Human Services field; or Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field; or a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Experience

One year of work experience in a behavioral health facility, or bachelor' s degree in social services or related field, plus one year of work experience in behavioral health service or delivery preferred.

WORK HOURS

12 hour shifts available. PRN employees must work four shifts per month, one shift must include a weekend.
