Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Tech Medical Laboratory Technician - Full-Time to perform lab procedures and report results according to hospital policies.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in medical laboratory science, 1–3 years of hospital lab experience, and is proficient in phlebotomy, QA/QC, and patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in medical laboratory science or related field required.
• 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent training.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory setting or medical-related environment.
• Pass Fit Test required.
• Meet all Employee Health Requirements.
• Phlebotomy and lab safety competencies preferred (ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW certifications).

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing.
• Conduct lab testing from pre-analytical through post-analytical phases.
• Participate in proficiency testing, QA/QC and process improvement activities.
• Perform instrument maintenance and upkeep.
• Comply with laboratory policies and OSHA safety regulations.
• Deliver patient care, including assessment, planning and evaluation of outcomes; adapt plans as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

JobSummary

Performs medical laboratory procedures and reports results in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Medical Technologist Job Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen processing.
• Performs efficiently and accurately all aspects of lab testing from the pre-analytical phase through analytical and post analytical phases.
• Participate in proficiency testing, QA, QC and process improvement activities.
• Perform instrument maintenance.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
• Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patientoutcomes.
• Revisesplanofpatientcare as needed.
• Providescompassiontothepatientandthepatient’sfamilymembers.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate's degree in medical laboratory science, or related field from an accredited institution
• Required: 1-3 years Clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical laboratory training program.
• Required: Experience in a hospital laboratory setting or medical related environment.
• Required: Pass Fit Test
• Required: Meet all Employee Health Requirement
• Preferred:Certification in any of the following: ASCP(American Society for Clinical Pathology), AMT(American Medical Technologies), NCA (National Credentialing Agency), or HEW (Health Education & Welfare).
• Preferred:Preferred: BLS/CPR certification
• Preferred:Phlebotomy certification
