Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital is seeking a Tech, Medical Laboratory Technician (Full-Time) to perform medical laboratory procedures and report results promptly and accurately in accordance with hospital policies. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing, instrument maintenance, and adherence to safety and OSHA standards.

The candidate should have an Associate's degree in medical laboratory science, 1–3 years of clinical lab experience, and hospital lab exposure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• 1–3 years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent training.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory setting or medical environment.
• Pass Fit Test.
• Meet all Employee Health Requirements.
• Preferred certifications: ASCP/AMT/NCA/HEW.
• Preferred: BLS/CPR certification.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing.
• Carry out lab testing from pre-analytical to post-analytical phases.
• Participate in proficiency testing, QA, QC and process improvement.
• Maintain laboratory instruments.
• Follow OSHA safety, cleanliness and infection-control policies.
• Contribute to patient care planning and evaluation.
• Adjust patient care plans as needed.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and families.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs medical laboratory procedures and reports results in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Medical Technologist Job Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen processing.
• Performs efficiently and accurately all aspects of lab testing from the pre-analytical phase through analytical and post analytical phases.
• Participate in proficiency testing, QA, QC and process improvement activities.
• Perform instrument maintenance.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
• Ensures delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patientoutcomes.
• Revisesplanofpatientcare as needed.
• Providescompassiontothepatientandthepatient’sfamilymembers.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Required: 1-3 years Clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical laboratory training program.
• Required: Experience in a hospital laboratory setting or medical related environment.

• Preferred: Certification in any of the following: ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), AMT (American Medical Technologies), NCA (National Credentialing Agency), or HEW (Health Education & Welfare).
