Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC, delivering integrated care across a robust network. This Mammography Technologist role focuses on diagnostic imaging, patient safety, and supportive care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT Mammography certification, radiologic technology training, and at least two years of mammography experience, with current BLS.

Qualifications

  • Two years mammography experience and ARRT mammography certification.
  • Graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program and ARRT radiology certification.
  • Current BLS certification and ongoing education in safety and radiology standards.
  • Ability to operate a mammography unit and perform screening and diagnostic mammograms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic mammography images and ensure patient safety protocols.
  • Serve as the first point of contact with patients during mammography.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards and maintain equipment and documentation.

Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesCedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking a Mammography Technologist (Full-Time)
Our ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/Lead, to perform diagnostic mammography images and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their mammogram. Performs other duties as assigned.

RequirementsQualifications

  • 2 years prior Mammography experience.
  • Certified Mammographer through the ARRT.
  • Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT Certification in Radiology and Mammography.
  • Must have current BLS certification and remain current thereafter. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
  • Able to operate a mammography unit.
  • Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Familiarity with breast biopsies.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
