Job summary

Ironclad is hiring a Tech Lead Manager in San Francisco to lead a team building production generative AI systems. You will blend hands-on technical leadership with people management, guiding the technical direction while growing engineers on the team.

You will own the roadmap, set quality standards, and partner with product management to translate business needs into technical deliverables. Expect a fast-paced, high-impact environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams as a manager and shipping production systems.
• Strong background in generative AI/LLM-based systems with technical depth.
• Ability to contribute directly as a developer and designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers, balancing hands-on leadership with people support.
• Own the technical roadmap and quality bar for your team's systems.
• Translate customer and business needs into technical deliverables with PMs.
• Contribute design docs, drive architecture decisions, and write production code.
• Review architecture, unblock engineers, and prioritize tradeoffs across teams.
• Set engineering standards: testing, eval-driven development, monitoring.
• Hire, mentor, and manage performance and career development for reports.
